That spring, Weiland laboured through court dates and recovery as Slash and Duff did advance press for Contraband, and fan anticipation for the record album grew. VR likewise released the single "Slide," a rabid, ambitious rocker guided by Slash's signature guitar profound. The individual sidled steadily up the active sway charts, and when Contraband lastly dropped, it was to oecumenical hold for its integrate of STP and GNR signatures and its surprising turn toward epicurean maturity. Velvet Revolver's sophomore try, Libertad, followed in 2007.
