The Man expects to drop its third full-length album, "Censored Colors," in late summer/early fall. The set was largely written and recorded during a frantic two-and-a-half-week session in Seattle."Throughout the year, we're constantly writing and there were little ideas here and there," guitarist/singer/songwriter John Baldwin Gourley explained in a statement. "I think we went into the studio with two songs that we had demoed before and part of another song we had been jamming live; that was it. We went in, and realized, we have to start doing a song a night to even get 15 songs done in two and a half weeks."The band managed to pull it off with the help of producers Phil Peterson and Kirk Huffman of The House of Breaking Glass, and Paul Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead). The forthcoming record will follow last year's "Church Mouth," which debuted at No. 30 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart, and 2006's "Waiter: 'You Vultures!'"Portugal. The Man has been flying under the mainstream radar over the past couple of years, building a hefty fanbase using the grassroots philosophy of releasing as much new music and touring as often as possible.
