Duffy, Nick Cave win at Mojos
Duffy's number one single 'Mercy' has won the song of the year prize at this year's Mojo awards.
The vocalist, who was nominated for three gongs, lost out in the best breakthrough act section to The Last Shadow Puppets and in the best album category to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Mojo magazine's editor Phil Alexander hailed Duffy's breakthrough single as "a timeless song".
"It could really have come from any period in time over the last 50 years," he said.
Other acts honoured at the event included Led Zeppelin (best live act), Paul Weller (outstanding contribution to music), the Sex Pistols (icon award), Neil Diamond (classic songwriter award) and Genesis (lifetime achievement award).
Ska group The Specials were inducted into the Mojo Hall of Fame.
"Everyone wishes that The Specials were still around now," said Alexander.
